BP Claims

I have created this page to help those that are affected by the Oil Spill. It's the easiest way for me to help those involved and others can watch this page to stay up with recent events. I will also try to upload current pictures.

Here is what you do if you are affected. I have already made a claim and received some relief money.
Contact BP's toll free claims number at 1.800.440.0858 where a live person will issue you a claim number. This is the first thing you must do. You need to have as much information ready as possible for the person that answers the phone. The current local office in Panama City Beach is located at 7938 Front Beach Road.

You must have the following:

1. Federal income tax return and all supporting schedules and forms for at least two years.
2. Sales and use tax returns for the last two years.
3. Rent rolls form January 2009 through the present.
4. Monthly income statements (profits and loss) from January 2009 through the present.
5. Documentation for any canceled contracts or agreements related to the subject incident.
6. Rental lease agreements for each tenant.
7. Payroll journals reflecting gross wages by employee for all pay periods ended March 15 through the present.
8. Documentation for any expenses incurred to mitigate a loss of sales.

I was able to use my PayPal account with history of the last 3 years to show decrease in deposits. I also used tax returns.
You need to have a monthly report of income for the past 3 years and the present year.

There is an office in the Chamber of Commerce Building and it's recommended to call before you make application.

If you are in a declared disaster area and have suffered any disaster related damage, you may be eligible for federal disaster assistance.

Individuals that are home owners and renters must register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to obtain a FEMA Registration ID Number by calling 1.800.621.3362. The speech or hearing impaired may call (TTY) 1.800.462.7585.

For a BP Claim:
Once you get your claim number, you can go into Panama City Beach office and request it be processed there.

I would suggest that you mail everything to your adjuster directly in hard copy.
